Video/Radio: Artie Lange Quits
Yesterday's Howard Stern Show was NUTS!
Artie gets in a huge fight with his assistant, Teddy. Eventually he tries to leap over the desk to kick Teddy's ass but luckily dudes were there to restrain him.
Artie then yells at Howard, telling him that the knew something like this would happen. Howard tells Artie that he's gotta leave and Artie turns in his resignation.
Heavy. (No pun intended)
They didn't even replay the show like they usually do because it was so hardcore. I didn't get to hear it live, so I had to download it. They even completely omitted the entire day's episode recap on HowardStern.com.
Anyway, here it is. Part 1 is the 11th most popular video on YouTube right now. You'll find it awesome even if you don't regularly listen to Howard.
If you wanna get straight to Artie jumping over the table, it's on 4:08 on Part 2. But I highly recommend you listen to everything to get the full impact.

This is brilliant thinking. Whoever is the mastermind behind the YYTs realized that the reason they crossed over is because they release singles that white girls can dance to.
This one takes it up a notch. It's the danciest stuff they've ever done. If you played just the instrumental and left the boys off, it could easily be mistaken for a Madonna or Christina Aguilera or Jessica Simpson track.
But they legitimize it with a classic Beastie Boys drop...NO PUN INTENDED!

Speaking of tight songs, I'm officially a huge fan of Lil Wayne's single "Lollipop".
Like most good songs, this one took time to grow on me because it's so different. But now that I've given it time, I'm able to appreciate the laid-back R&B feel intertwined with the rap mentality.
Not to mention that delicious 808-kick-heavy bass and the great vocal editing. Brilliant track production.
This is one of those rare songs that when you listen to it, you immediately think, "I gotta listen to this high." Even if you don't smoke. Kinda like the new Death Cab single and every Incubus song ever.

TV/Sports: The Ultimate Fighter - Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest
Just got around to watching the season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter...and boy did they come out swinging.
Usually they start with 16 fighters, put them through some training, and then the coaches for each team take turns drafting.
This time they started with 32 fighters. Last night's episode and the next episode are nothing but 16 fights eliminating half of the dudes right off the bat. TIIIIIIGHT.
The coaches this season are Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Forrest Griffin.
These elimination fights were produced brilliantly. They set Rampage, Forrest and Dana White up at small table close to the octagon...all three were miked. They also had the standard ambient mic up, so you hear the regular fight sounds as well as the commentary from the other three.
The 32 guys came in having to weigh in w/i 24 hours and fight w/i 48. This was also a cool element because there were so many guys and so little time that it seems that they all went into their fight knowing little or nothing about their opponents. Thus, they couldn't really prepare for the fight, and that led to some pretty entertaining clashes of fighting styles.
Spike is airing the premiere episode (the first eight fights) and the next episode (the next eight fights) back-to-back this upcoming Wednesday, April 9th starting at 9pm EST.
For the new episode, they're promising the most extreme knock-out the show has ever had...apparently a dude gets wheeled out on a stretcher.
Set your DVRs, a-holes.

Video/TV: Clown Time - behind the scenes
If you've ever lived in Austin, you know about the cable access show Clown Time. It's almost as recognizable as Leslie, the cross-dresser who's always walking around 6th Street and ran for Mayor multiple times.
Leslie is dazzling
The show airs on the Austin Cable Access Channel, late on Sunday nights. Just the time that college students students are looking for something goofy and trivial to take their minds off of the ensuing school week.
Anyway, inspired by the link to the top 10 best 1980s cable access moments ever, I decided to look up Clown Time on YouTube.
What I found was this neat behind-the-scenes video of how this dude, James Laljer, runs Clown Time. I'm posting it because I know that alot of the most devoted preashers are good friends and "Texas Exes". And for those of you who aren't, it's still pretty interesting. Good editing.
Fun Fact: I called in to the show once. I got through, nervously asked some dumb question about who he thought would win the Pro Bowl, and was quickly hung up on. Oh wellz.
Another Fun Fact: I just remembered...Leslie was once in an Austin mini-court on 6th street at the same time as me. He was in full attire and was arguing with a secretary about some attorney-confusion issues. Go figure.
