Music: Yelawolf - "Box Chevy"

This song has been out for over two years and it just hit my radar yesterday. Why? Because Yelawolf is just now starting to get some traction in the rap world.

Yelawolf is a white rapper from Alabama. From just looking at him, you'd probably expect him to be a lead singer in a Good Charlotte-esque pop-punk band.

Over the last year, he's done songs with Bun B, Slim Thug and most recently Big Boi. And apparently Eminem is a fan.

Yesterday I was researching Yelawolf and came across this song, "Box Chevy." Despite being years old, the song is still ahead of it's time compared to most of the stuff you hear today. I've never heard a beat like this. So simple with a menacing drone and drum set kicks, snares, etc. And Yelawolf's delivery is equally original and compelling.

If he keeps coming out with stuff like this during his ascent, he has a chance of sticking around for a while.
