Also, I saw the movie this weekend. As if my review would actually sway you one way or the other at this point, I'll still say that it was f*cking awesome. The main knock I heard on it was that it was too long, but it really didn't feel long at all. Coming from me, that should say a lot. So, obviously...

Caught wind of M.I.A. yet? She's the artist on the Pineapple Express trailer, it's called Paper Planes.
I found a remix of the song featuring Bun B and Rich Boy but I don't know if it's the real deal or someone's personal remix.
She's got a unique look and sound, seems like she could take off. Check it out and let me know what you think.
By the way, I like to jam to her music if you didn't get that from my first post.
By the way I DVRed Elite XC. Not bad, still minor league although some of those fighters have been in the UFC.
Those women, though, they just can't sell it, in my opinion. I don't take them to be intimidating. It's like they're just playing pretend dress fighty fight fight with their little sis. Although the fight was not bad, I knew that ugly one was going to hand it to the prettier one. When it comes to girls fighting, my dad always taught me to always go with the uglier one.
Yeah, she's been on my radar for a while. She's actually got a pretty big indie following...and "Paper Planes" has been out for quite a while.
I've been extremely impressed with both EXC events that were on CBS. No one fight was a major disappointment to me. I think you're way off with the women fights being bad. I wasn't very interested going into to watching them, but once it was on I was very entertained.
And lastly, Gina Carano, arguably one of the best female mma fighters in the world, is pretty smokin'.
The women fights aren't all bad, true, maybe it's just the trash talk that turns me off because they can't pull it off. They were good fights. But that rough looking chick (Cristiane Cyborg) is going to hand it to Gina Carano if they ever rumble, I promise you! Let's make a bet! Over your blog! And as far as women fights are concerned, I base it solely on looks, not on talent (although Cyborg showed some heavy hands and quick strikes!).
And I agree, EXC isn't all bad, although it is still minor league. The majority of those fighters can't consistently compete in the UFC.
It's like the equivalent of the original ECW in professional wrestling. Old fighters whose careers are dieing and young fighters trying to make a name for themselves.
But that isn't all bad, I'm sure a few of these guys will make it up, or back up, to the UFC. Plus it's free it's worth a watch.
In my opinion, it's believable EXC told Thomas Denny (37 years old! at the tail end of his career) to brawl with Diaz, stand up with him, for some extra cash so the "casual fan" could witness a knock out.
But Kimbo Slice is a novelty and would get his bushy beard handed to him if he were to ever compete in the majors. I think he is my biggest aversion to EXC.
