While I've been sick, I watched 2 shows on DVD. Most recently I finished Lost season 3. I didn't realize that I had already seen the entire first half of the season while it was on air before giving up on it due to boredom. Perhaps that is why I found the first 3/4 of the season to be kinda boring. After that, though, it got pretty good. The last 2 episodes are quite awesome though, and that's all I'll say.
The most likely reason that I was kinda bored with Lost, though, was probably because I watched season 1 of Brotherhood first. Brotherhood is a Showtime show that premiered at the same time as Dexter. I had never really heard anything about Brotherhood, but Nolan let me borrow the season 1 DVDs.
My god is this an awesome show! If you were a Sopranos fan who needs a new show to take its place, Brotherhood is your show. It takes place in an Irish neighborhood in Rhode Island. This guy, Michael Caffee, is a state rep who's destined for a bigger political career until his gangster brother, Tommy, shows up outta nowhere after being gone for 7 years. The rest of the show follows the lives of the two brothers and the conflict between family and their contrasting careers.
It's very smart (often reminding me of The Wire), and there's also plenty of violence, sex, drugs, lies, and all that good stuff. I highly recommend you check out season 1 of Brotherhood. Season 2 just recently ended, so I'm gonna try to download it.
