DotW: Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones

Incredulous Douche

A quadriplegic dude is wheeled into a Florida jail after being arrested on a traffic warrant. The cops ask him to stand but he says he can't because he's a quadriplegic - he's paralyzed from the waist down.

Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones says, "Oh, no he didn't." Actually, she doesn't say that...but I'm sure she was thinking it.

She doesn't believe him, so she pulls the move you've seen on hundreds of comedy movies and sitcoms. She decides to call his bluff by dumping him out of his wheelchair so he'll be forced to stand up. Only problem was he wasn't bluffing. As my dad would say, "Smooth move, ex-lax."

Deputy Marshall-Jones was subsequently suspended without pay and charged with abuse of a disabled person, a third-degree felony.

Congratulations, Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones. Had this been an episode of The Office, this maneuver would have been a brilliant faux pas. But, unfortunately, this is reality...and all you get is bad press and the award of Douche for the Week.
